This blog is dedicated to my Studio work. Here you will see my creative process, well hopefully, I can’t always keep up with what goes on in the mind. But you will see at least pieces I think may work out, and works that get scrapped, but more importantly those that make it. I am ruthless, with my own work. Even though I can be quite prolific in creating, many pieces never see the light of day out of the visual diary, even out of my head. This coming year I am going to attempt to put work up, even if I feel its not worthy.
Artists are told we are the worst promoters of our own work, I happen to agree. Its easier to see the virtues in anothers work. Once you make the big time, the gallery does the hard work of selling, but even this dynamic is changing. The commission is usually quite large, and if you have just framed the item well you have just given the work away with money for materials not always covered. This is where so many of us become disheartened and pack up the tools sometimes forever. Today Artists must learn to self promote. Difficult for the humble. As a trained Illustrator I can paint and draw in many genres. Below are two fashion illustrations, which i don't normally do. Here's to mixing it up.
